Andrey Khramov (RUS) won the Gold medal in the mens opening distance in this years WOC in Olomous, Czech Republic, with Daniel Hubmann (SUI) and Martin Johansson (SWE) in the next spots.

– Some small mistakes

– I had some small mistakes. 6-7 seconds, maybe 10 seconds mistake three times, Khramov said after the race. But Khramov still beat Daniel Hubmann who had a near perfect run. Khramov is a strong runner – and has always been. – But when I was young I was an even stronger runner. As a 16-year old I run the 3000 meter in 8.22 – and now I would maybe manage to run the same, but not faster.

– I am in good shape, and I hope for hot weather for the long distance, because that is an advantage for me.

Perfect race for Hubmann

– I had a really good feeling. I had everything under control and a really good flow, a somewhat disappointed silved medalist said after the race. – I knew that it was a really good race, and when I got close to the finish I hoped for a gold medal, silver medalist Daniel Hubmann said after the race. – Andrey was two seconds faster. It is not so much luck being beaten by two seconds.
