JWOC Relay: Map

Now we can finally bring you the map from the JWOC Relay (see link below). I’d like to use this opportunity to thank the organizers for being very cooperative – thus for most of the competitions this week we were able to share maps with you just after the last runner left the start / passed the spectator control. I’d also like to thank everybody contributing at the LiveBlog – especially the moderators.

Below you see the JWOC Relay map with all controls. At the right margin, you see the control for all courses. One of the mens courses are drawn on the map. Note that there was a map exchange.

  1. What are the plans for the World Games (Live Blog with map service, Radio controls, Web TV, GPS tracking)? The races are:

    – Sprint Fri 08:00 CEST
    – Sprintish Middle Sat 06:30
    – Sprintish Relay Sun 08:00

All maps were made by Perola Olsson using ISSOM2007. I ran or organized on 4 of his maps in Taiwan and found them perfect almost everywhere.

Maybe the Middle map will not be released immediately (same map for Relay). There should be a former map available, but I do not have it.

  2. There will be video streaming / GPS tracking,

Might set up a LiveBlog, but when there is both tracking and live video streaming, it is not that important. I’ll wait and see if there is a big demand at least.
