@Jan – Ok Jan, my apologies. Without the context, it did seem like a very odd question that someone who is ignorant of the sport would ask (clearly this is not you). With the context, it seems like a much more logical question. I agree that you’re doing a very good job.

It seemed also a quite natural question for Thierry. I like that he already talks about WOC2016. So we probably will have him in the “game” for one more year. :)

And Lorenzo just because its the internet you should not be so rude. I hope you feel ashamed now, after you offended one (or the most) important person in case of reporting on professional orienteering. You are doing an awesome job Jan!!

@Lorenzo: I am the interviewer. This question is based on Thierry’s comment ahead of last year’s World Championships where he said that the long distance “is the easiest race to win at the World Championships” – which he also confirmed after the race. I apologize if you find this question out of line, but based on my earlier conversations and interviews with Thierry this was for me a logical question to ask.
