I think Maja Alm, Denmark has made the best Achievement of 2016. Not only because she is the undoubtedly best female sprinter over the last years, not only because she succeeded in re-winning WOC-goldmedals (individual and sprint-relay) and not even only because she succeeded in gaining a silver-medal for her team in the WOC forest-relay after an excellent last leg, competing against and beating some of the other great female orienteers of today.
No, I think Maja should be awarded mostly for her personality, her winning and spontaneous attitude and for her great part in the ongoing Danish success, where she is an excellent rolemodel and anchorwoman for her teammates and for all young Danish orienteers.
Prize: 5+5 days of Sicily
