Nice that your keeping this up! Still looking for more route-choice suggestions, the recent Trondheim Open event by Wing last Saturday in well-known Estenstadmarka had several interesting route-choice legs. E.g., legs 2 & 9, but also on the shorter legs to 7 & 11 several good runners lost significant time due to incorrect choices (in addition to bad leg execution). So in case new races are interesting check out https://www.livelox.com/Viewer/Trondheim-open-/H-17-?classId=278663

Tim Robertson is simply faster than all the rest, but there is just 20 sec between the two BUL runners. This leg where the fastest route is the most direct but with a very heavy climb into the control you should also take a look at the running speed to the next control. Teodor Yordanov would have been very fresh and rested while Apostol who was 22 sec faster must have been tired by the time he punched.

This particular issue was one of the key findings in Eystein Weltzien's Master thesis.

Compared with the total race, this leg was probably the best Teodor he ran since he was 22 min behind Tim R in the end. I.e. I believe that for almost all orienteers the best route would have been the one taken by Teodor!
