I had done some analysis when we ran the event. Linus&#039; route to the left was likely the fastest, he was only about 10-30s behind Joe where Joe joined the road and then Joe put another 1 minute on Linus to the control. So could have added more time if going far left.

I also think the far right that Nick Hann took is likely to be a similar time if Joe had taken that route. Zefa Fa&#039;avae was also running and 12s slower than Joe but I do not know which line he took. The other strong runner in the field, Felix Hunt who had just beaten Joe in the Oceania Champs.... went straight then left which did cost time.

Beautiful map to plan on. My wife and I spent a lovely New Years camping and wandering around the forest refining the course and control sites.
