Below you find an online calculator to find the final WC standings based on the results for the runners in the three final races (only for the mens class at present – and only the top 10 in todays standing are included). Emil Wingstedt is the runner who may get the maximum number of points in the overall WC.
Emil can do it
Although Daniel Hubmann is the overall WC leader before the WC finals, second placed Emil Wingstedt has a small advantage – as he may reach a higher number of total points (315 versus 309 for Daniel Hubmann) with victories in the three last races. Home favourite Thierry G. can get a maximum of 293 points if he manages three straight victories. For Thierry G. to win, then Hubmann must have a series of 2-2-3 or worse, and Wingstedt a series of 2-3-3 or worse. You can play with the online calculator below for yourself, and see what it takes your favourite to win!
Scoring system and standing before WC final
Online calculator
Below you find the online calculator. Just change the positions at the different races (the first 6 races are fixed!), and hit the “Calc” button to calculate the total number of points for a runner. The calculations are based on the scoring system given above, and I hope it calculates the correct values. If not – please send me an email and I will fix it! Note that a victory in the final race will count differently than a victory in one of the other races, as the final race will count in the overall WC for all runners.
It does not exactly look pretty (and don’t look at the Javascript code – that looks even worse) – but that was not my focus here… Enjoy!
