Todays we offer yet another bonus leg in Route to Christmas – this time a leg from Slovakia. This leg was originally chosen as I did not find any good legs from JWOC – but then a JWOC long leg surfaced, and this one was degraded to a bonus leg …This leg is from a training course from JWOC 2012 from March 18th.

The comment today is by Håkon Westergård – one of the best Norwegian juniors who run this leg. Westergård explains how to think in this terrain type:
– In this terrain the green is very tricky to get through. Either you get through, or it is impossioble. Generally on this leg it was all about localizing the route which was closest to the line, but still had the shortest part of the route going through the green. Performing well according to your plan is also important. I chose to take the secure way the last part into the control along the path to make it easier.

Route to Christmas series
The ‘Route to Christmas’ series at World of O has been very popular the last years – and I have therefore decided to continue the series this Christmas as well. If you have got any good legs in RouteGadget, GPSSeuranta or 3DRerun from 2012-competitions – or old forgotten ones which are still interesting – please email me the link at Jan@Kocbach.net, and I’ll include it in Route to Christmas if it looks good. Route to Christmas will not be interesting if YOU don’t contribute.
Not all legs are taken for the interesting routechoice alternatives – some are also taken because the map is interesting – or because it is not straightforward to see what to do on a certain leg. Any comments are welcome – especially if you ran the event chosen for todays leg!
