Today’s entry in “January Classics” is a nice long distance race in Sweden in – the European Championships long distance final 2012 in Skattungbyn, Sweden. A tough long distance with many long legs with route choice options.
For this race there is a full GPS- and split time analysis available here – but please take a look at the Webroute below before heading over to the GPS-analysis.
Webroute
The selected leg for a Webroute is the leg from 4 to 5. Think through how you would attack this leg, and draw the route you would have made. Some comments about why you would choose a certain route are always nice for the other readers.
Hi Jan,
Is 2012 really part of “classics” already? In any case, it would be interesting to see maps and routes from very old days (1950-1990), especially WOC and EOC.

Classics = Classic distance (= today’s long distance:)
And yes, I’d very much like to see the maps/routes from very old days as well, but people are VERY quiet…. The only tip I got is one from 2013 ….
I would like to suggest the woc 2007 long distance. Not that old but epic route choice, interesting seperating method, challenging conditions…
If you are interested in classic classics, maybe you could look into Lars Palmqvist’s archive, there are maps going back to 1971.
The url to the archive is in my name, or here: http://www.domarstigen.se/doma
