Today we bring a real old time classic for January Classics: Finnich Championships classic distance 1974 (thanks to Tapani Partanen for map and additional info). The map is taken from the book Suuri Suunnistusteos 1 (Rauno Liimatainen). Click the map for full size
– The winner in H21 was Hannu Mäkirinta (1949-1989), who completed the race in 1.31.16 for 12.1 km. A very good performance, Partanen writes in his e-mail.
The route choice of the winner is shown on the map. The terrain is partly the same as used in Kytäjä-Jukola 2010. Now the terrain is embargoed area for Finnish ultralong championships 2014.

PS! Only one tip left in my mailbox for January Classics! Although there has been quite good interest for January Classics, few tips have landed in my mailbox. I will probably end the series in a few days if it is still quiet out there.
