JWOC Middle Final: Live from 11:00 CET

jwocmaps2
Get ready for the last individual discipline of this Junior World Orienteering Championships in Denmark – the middle distance with the A-finals starting from 11:00 CET. Expect a lot of short legs with tricky orienteering as in the qualification – and probably also at least one longer leg with some routechoice challenges. If the challenges are similar to the qualification, it will be important to keep the concentration on top in the tricky parts – and the speed on top in the easier parts.

The first start in the mens class in the A-final is at 11:00 CET – whereas the three heat winners – Gaute Hallan Steiwer, Matthias Kyburz and Rasmus Thrane Hansen start in the end of the startfield between 12:56 and 13:00. The first start in the womens class is at 11:01 CET – here we find the heat winners Anastasia Trubkina, Emma Klingenberg and Sarina Jenzer at the end of the startlist between 12:55 and 12:59. The B- and C-finals start already from 09:00 CET.

Live reports

The LiveBlog below will be live during the JWOC Middle Final. Tweets with hashtag #jwoc or #jwoc2010 will be shown directly in the LiveBlog. There is no live speaker sound or GPS tracking at JWOC. “Live results” from the finish line will be linked from this JWOC page about one hour ahead of the first start – that means there will be no intermediate times from the forest. However, we hope to get reports directly from the finish area in the LiveBlog from Christian Bobach like we had on the Long distance.

I expect to get the map with course after the last start (the map will be scanned and then sent to me – so expect some delay) – this will be posted in the LiveBlog as soon as I receive it.

If you are on a mobile phone, you can access the LiveBlog here.
