Suggest a nomination for the Orienteering Achievement of 2014 and win great prizes! Remember that we are not necessarily looking for the best orienteer/team of 2014 – but rather the best achievements. There is one class for men and one for women – juniors can also be suggested, the same goes for teams.

Among all really good nomination texts, we will draw one or two of the great sponsor prizes (more about the prizes below in the sponsor section). The number of prizes drawn will depend on the number of nomination suggestions being posted. Many suggestions = more prizes drawn.

  • Write your nomination text at the World of O Facebook pageRemember to add a note about which sponsor prize you are interested in – it would be a pity to win a prize you are not interested in?! 1. It’s gotta be Tim Robertson – Winner of JWOC sprint distance and then went on to win MTBO JWOC as well! And he is a New Zealander

  2. I nominate Gernot Kerschbaumer after his great season. Winning two qualification races at EOC, with his 8th place he broke the all-time-Austrian-record from long-time-ago over the long-distance at WOC, winning two medals at CISM and 5th place overall at Oringen. He is definitely one of the big orienteers of the last 10 or more years and best Austrian ever.

  3. Orienteering fan

I nominate Edgars Bertuks, because he was hard working, although he did not succeed good in World Orienteering Championship 2014,he had traumatic season. After World Championship he started to training even more difficult.
He won Latvian championship in middle distance.
This is why I nominate him to this award.

    • The Latvian championship in middle distance this year won Martins Sirmais 2 min ahead Edgars Bertuks.

  4. Søren Bobach
I nominate Søren Bobach for his impressive performance and gold medal at the WOC sprint. His gold medal was a result of many reasons. Many know of his huge talent, but fewer know of the huge amount of work and patience put into his recovery from a double stress fracture in both navicular bones. A path full of doubt, set-backs and frustration.
Søren is also nominated for being a part of a very dedicated and specific preparation for the sprint and the many technical and physical aspects of sprint orienteering. A preparation not possible without strong support and a high level of corporation between all athletes in the Danish national team.
Søren could not have done without, it was truely a gold medal in the spirit of the sport of orienteering and elite sports in general

  5. I nominate Piotrek Parfianowicz with his third JWOC medal, with a silver medal in sprint distance. He has shown that he is good in each discipline collecting three medals (2011 – relay gold (setting similiar to middle one, 2013 – long gold, and finally the race which shows that he is good in each discipline silver in sprint distance in Bulgaria.) He’s results are the best ever Juniors results in Polish History.
