Tue Lassen (DEN), Jonas Leandersson (SWE), Daniel Hubmann (SUI)/Martin Regborn (SWE),  Sari Anttonen (FIN), Judith Wyder (SUI) and Cecile Klysner (DEN) were the heat winners in the opening race of the World Orienteering Championships 2016 in Strömstad, Sweden.

There were no big surprises in the qualification – one of the best ranked runners nok making the cut was Czech Jan Prochazka.

Maps

The sprint course was a typical qualification course without the biggest challenges – still there were some tricky controls in the park/forest (see abvove) and a route choice leg in towards the end were you could lose 10-15 seconds by taking the wrong choice.
