Route to Christmas: Day 15

Posted by Jan Kocbach, 15 Dec 2007@8:00

Todays leg is from the unofficial Norwegian Youth Champs 2006 (Hovedløpet) in Norway - north of Trondheim. Leg 14 in the oldest category - H16 - is chosen. This leg is not exceptionally difficult nor long - but it is interesting to note how it is attacked by the coming Norwegian Orienteering Elite.

First take a look at the map without routes - and think about how you would attack this leg (if the map is too small, you may click on it to get it larger - click again outside the map to close it):

Then you can take a look at how the runners who have drawn their route choice solved this leg:

After the race we tested the routes and found that straight (pretty much the green route) was the fastest, but in-race and after-race are two different things!
