EYOC 2015: Maps and Results

EYOC2015-Long-M18

One week before the Junior World Orienteering Championships starts in Rauland, Norway, some of the best youth and junior orienteers in Europe met for the European Youth Orienteering Championships (EYOC) in Romania.

EYOC is open for competitiors from 15 to 18 years, and competition is done in 15-16 and 17-18 categories in sprint, long and middle. Several nations do only send athletes in the 17-18 classes.

Some of the athletes who competed at EYOC will travel on to JWOC – some nations do however only send the second best juniors to EYOC.

Maps

EYOC offered interesting and varied terrain for the forest disciplines. Above you see the map and course from the M18 class in the long distance – offering both nice fine-orienteering in detailed terrain and a few longer legs. Below you see the map with the M18 sprint course which offered relatively easy orienteering. Finally the relay map. You find the maps for all classes in all disciplines at this link (organizer webpage).
