25mannakorten: Lundanes and Jansson

img_1 (2)

With a very strong start field, Olav Lundanes and Helena Jansson won 25mannakorten this Sunday.

Especially the men’s race was very close with three runners within 3 seconds. Olav Lundanes (Halden SK) won 2 seconds ahead of Fredric Portin (Halden SK) with Emil Svensk (Stora Tuna OK) in 3rd at 0:03. Thierry Guergiou in fourth was 23 seconds down.

Above you see Gueorgiou’s GPS-route compared to 14th placed Mathias Hallmén. From the GPS-comparison you can see how Gueorgiou lost all the gap up to Lundanes on the routechoice to the 9th control by going straight and hesitating on the way.  The splitsbrowser below shows how Portin had a very good start of the race which Svensk had a very good last part of the race. Lundanes had a more even race, and this is what in the end got him the (close) victory.

Helena Jansson (OK Ravinen) won the women’s class 41 seconds ahead of Tove Alexandersson (Stora Tuna OK) with Lina Strand (Göteborg-Majorna OK) in 3rd at 1:06. In the women’s class Jansson and Alexandersson had approximately the same speed, but Alexandersson lost half a minute to the 3rd control in addition to some other smaller mistakes.
