[GPS-tracking Saturday from 11:53 CET – from 11:00 CET Sunday] Gustav Bergman and Emma Klingenberg are in the lead in the high profile race series Swedish League before the decision in Umeå, Sweden this weekend. The last two races of a total of seven races in Swedish League is a middle distance race Saturday and a chasing start Sunday.
The starting times in Sunday’s chasing start is decided based on the best 4 of 6 races in Swedish League so far this spring. Before the weekend Emma Klingenberg has a lead of more than 300 points ahead of Tanja Ryabkina – while Gustav Bergman’s lead to Jonas Leandersson is around 40 points. In the chasing start on Sunday each point corresponds to one second – and thus the men long distance chasing start looks to be a close battle as several runners are within 200 points. In the women’s class Klingenberg will probably have a clear advantage ahead of the final race, but with 300 points for the winner (and 264 points for number two; down to 6 points for number 30) in Saturday’s race, the chasers may come closer than it looks like just now.
