Estonian Champs Middle: Sild brothers in tight fight

estmiddle

The 9th and 11th control decided a very tight fight between the Sild brothers in the Estonian championships middle distance in a technical, marshy terrain. Evely Kaasiku decided the women’s class.

Both Lauri and Timo ran technical good races, but a Lauri took the initiative after a small direction mistake by Timo on the 9th control (see GPS-tracking snapshot below). Timo later did a small mistake into the 11th control – and Lauri could run in to a  10 second victory.

Estonia will soon be in the focus of the orienteering world with the World Orienteering Championships organized in Estonia in 2017.
