woO-TV: WOC Sprint Final Runthrough with Headcam

tvwo.pngFor those of you who have not had the possibility to run through the WOC 2008 Sprint course, woO-TV has prepared a runthrough video where the mens course is run through with a headcam. Alongside the video the map along with a GPS track is shown in a split screen.

Note that the runthrough was done the day after the competition, and therefore there were no controls in the terrain. Also, some of the gates where closed, so we had to climb a rather high fence, and one control (number 8) was not fully approached. No music this time – only the breathing of the headcam operator. Thus, this is considered a video piece for the specially interested orienteer. Still – it is nice to see exactly what kind of challenges the competitors met when comparing with the map.

Video at Viddler – complete runthrough in normal speed no sound

  1. Hi Jan!

Great video, great race, but disqualified! Now you can feel how Emil Wingsted felt ;-)

Did you read Matthias Müller’s article about color blindness? It is interesting, you would have been disqualified exactly at one of the points, which Matthias complained about: Just before arriving at control no. 1, you jumped a flower bed which was marked olive green on the map (minute 3:55 in the Viddler video).
